AMESBURY, Mass. – Merrimack College men's hockey sophomore forward,
Alex Jefferies, was named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
He scored a trio of goals over the weekend to help the Warriors complete a three-game sweep of Vermont. His third period tally Friday went down as the game-winner, then he scored on the power play late in the third period Saturday before he netted the overtime game-winning goal not long after.
The Lunenburg, Mass. native now has nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points on the campaign, which includes four power play goals. He also tops the team with 81 shots on goal.
Merrimack returns to the ice Saturday night for a battle with New Hampshire. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm from the Whittemore Center.
