Field Hockey Unveils 2022 Season Schedule

FULL SCHEDULE

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College field hockey team and head coach Hannah Richard announced their 2022 season schedule Monday, which is set to begin in late-August with back-to-back home games at Duane Stadium and includes seven Northeast Conference games and seven non-conference matchups against New England-based opponents. 

Merrimack stays home for a pair of contests to open the fall Aug. 26 against Colgate, then another non-conference battle to complete the weekend Aug. 28 with La Salle. The team heads to Vermont Sep. 2 to take on the Catamounts, then it rekindles an old NEC rivalry Sep. 6 when it travels to Smithfield, R.I. to take on Bryant. Merrimack has four other road games to lead into conference play, which includes tilts with UMass Lowell (Sep. 11), Dartmouth (Sep. 18), Holy Cross (Sep. 20) and Lehigh (Sep. 24). 

Duane Stadium is set to host the 2022 NEC opener for the Warriors when Wagner pays a visit Sep. 30 to mark the program's annual Homecoming weekend game. Another non-conference battle closes that weekend Oct. 2 at Maine, then the team returns to conference play with away games against new league member, Stonehill (Oct. 7), and Fairfield (Oct. 9). Merrimack returns to North Andover Oct. 14 for another home contest against LIU, then it wraps up its non-conference slate Oct. 16 with a road matchup against New Hampshire. 

After a thrilling overtime win over Saint Francis thanks to Anne-Sophie Hogenboom's late goal during the 2021 season, Merrimack heads to Loretto, Pa. Oct. 21 for a rematch against the Red Flash. The Warriors turn around for its final home game of the year Oct. 23 against Sacred Heart, then the 2022 regular season closes Oct. 28 with a matchup in Lawrenceville, N.J. with Rider.
