Ferrentino Named NEC Rookie of the Year

North Andover, MA—Merrimack Freshman catcher Frankie Ferrentino was named to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Year and to the NEC second team as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Frankie had a stellar year at the plate as he played and started in all 31 conference games this year and hit for a .333 average and a .970 OPS collecting 42 hits, 16 of them were for extra bases, as he notched 10 doubles and six home runs against conference opposition this season and a .304 average with 10 home runs and 35 RBI and a .900 OPS in all games. He also collected multiple NEC Rookie of the Week honors winning them in back to back weeks on April 4^th and April 12^th.
