NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Merrimack College men's track & field team finished sixth at the MAAC Conference Championships this weekend. The Warriors notched a combined 47.25 points to top four conference foes.
How it Happened I Saturday February 22
- John Elie Jr. won the men's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.08 seconds. Elie Jr. will compete in the 60m hurdle finals on Sunday. Teammate Jackson Bomba also competed in the event where he placed 15th with a time of 8.76 seconds.
- Sean Moore cracked the top-15 in the men's mile, finishing 14th with a time of 4:22.
- Tyler Fortune placed 12th in the 60m dash with a time of 7.05. Fortune also competed in the 200m dash where he finished 13th, crossing the line in 22.42 seconds.
- Carson Mighty produced a top-20 finish in the 200m, placing 17th with a time of 22.84 with teammate Thomas Scalia taking 19th (23.09).
- In the 5000m, Jack Lombardi produced an 11th place finish, clocking in at 15:18.52 for a personal best in the event.
- In the field, Nathan Molina registered a mark of 6.68m for an 11th place finish.
- Daniel Blatman placed third in weight throw with a mark of 17.45m, earning 6 points for Merrimack. Jared Ptaszek also scored crucial points for the Warriors in weight throw by finishing 4th with a mark of 16.77m.
- Nathan Molina finished fourth in high jump, clearing 1.93m. Molina's performance added 5 points to the Warrior's total. Maxim Lussier also scored points for the Warriors with his 7th place finish (1.88m).
- The DMR tandem of Reidar Aageson, Maddox Merlo, Owen Schultz, Michael Alleva, Luke Llewellyn, and Sean Moore placed 5th, topping Siena, Manhattan, and Mount St. Mary's.
- After day 1 of competition, the Warriors sit in fifth place with 22.25 points.
How it Happened I Sunday February 23
- John Elie Jr. won the men's 60m hurdles with a new school record time of 8.06 seconds.
- Aidan Dupill produced a ninth-place finish in the 3000m, crossing the line in 8:36.85.
- Maxim Lussier placed second in pole vault, clearing a new school record high 4.78m. Teammate Max Bothwell also found success in the event, finishing ninth with a mark of 3.98m.
- Evan Thevenot finished 9th in triple jump with a mark of 13.32m.
- In men's shot put, Owen LaRoss placed 12th, tossing for 12.84m.
- The 4x400m relay team of Landon Crowley, Blake Hickey, Jadis Yarbrough, Maddox Merlo, and Thomas Scalia placed 6th overall with a time of 3:23.86.
- Merrimack's 4x800 relay tandem of Owen Schultz, Luke Llewellyn, Michael Alleva, Reidar Aageson, Sean Moore, and Jack Lombardi finished in the top-five with a time of 7:55.26.
