EDISON, NJ – Merrimack College freshman midfielder,
John Savino was a unanimous selection for the MAAC All-Rookie team as announced by the conference Friday morning.
Savino was excellent in his first season as a Warrior. During his freshman campaign the Smithtown, New York native totaled 13 goals and 11 assists. He finished with five multi goal games for Merrimack and was the fifth leading scorer on the team. Savino took home a pair of MAAC Rookie of The Week awards throughout the course of the 2025 season and helped ease the transition into a new conference. The freshman started in 11 games and played in all 13 of the Warriors matchups. Savino also added 12 ground balls and a trio of caused turnovers to his season totals to pave the way to his All-Rookie team selection.
