LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ The Merrimack men's outdoor track and field team competed in the MAAC Conference Championships in Lawrenceville New Jersey where they finished fourth overall with 102.5 points.
Warrior Standouts
The Warriors crowned two MAAC Champions, with
John Elie Jr. winning the 110m hurdles and
Cory Couture taking first in the 400m finals.
Grant Eastin set a program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.98m, and earned a second podium finish in shot put, tying his PB mark of 15.68.
Nathan Molina had an exceptional day in the field, setting personal bests in both high jump and long jump – and was named the Men's Field Rookie of the Meet.
How it Happened I Saturday May 10
- John Elie Jr. won the 110m hurdle prelims with a new school record time of 14.17 seconds. Elie Jr. will advance to the 110m hurdle finals.
- Grant Eastin finished third in hammer throw, setting a new school record mark of 55.98m. Jared Ptaszek finished sixth in the event with a mark of 53.36m.
- Cory Couture won the 400m prelims with a time of 48.26 seconds and will advance to the finals tomorrow. Maddox Merlo cracked the top-20, placing16th with a time of 50.75 seconds.
- In the 200m prelims, Couture won the event, logging a time of 21.53 seconds. Fortune also participated in the event and placed in the top-10, registering a time of 21.92 seconds.
- Maxim Lussier finished second in pole vault, clearing a distance of 4.75m. Max Bothwell also turned in a successful performance, finishing fifth with a mark of 4.10m.
- Nathan Molina produced a third place finish in long jump with a PB mark of 6.95m.
- Zachary Hubbard placed fifth in javelin with a mark of 50.58m while teammate Kyle Adams finished sixth, throwing for 49.81m.
- Sean Moore paved the way for the Warriors in the 10k, finishing sixth with a time of 32:24.38.
- Tyler Fortune finished 11th in the 100m prelims with a time of 10.68 seconds. Carson Mighty tabbed the top-15 with a time of 10.89 seconds.
- Reidar Aageson led the Warriors in the 1500m, finishing 13th with a PR of 4:05.14 with Michael Alleva right on his heels to capture 14th with a time of 4:05.58.
- Owen Schultz finished 14th in the 800m prelims with a time of 1:57.50.
- Blake Hickey captured 15th place in the 400m hurdle prelims, crossing the line in 58.38 seconds.
- DJ Walsh placed 18th in the 3000m steeple chase, registering a time of 10:35.69.

- Cory Couture won the 400m finals with a championship-best time of 47.11 seconds.
- John Elie Jr. won the 110m hurdle finals with a time of 14.20 seconds.
- Grant Eastin finished top-three in shot put, tying his PB mark of 15.68m. Kyle Adams placed eighth in the event with a mark of 13.32m.
- Owen LaRoss finished fourth in discus, with a throw measuring 44.76m while Grant Eastin captured fifth with a mark of 42.93m. Will Bierden also found success in the event, finishing sixth with a mark of 42.03.
- In high jump, Nathan Molina finished top-five with a season best mark of 1.91m. Maxim Lussier finished sixth (1.86m) and Tyler Lloyd clinched eighth with a PR mark of 1.86m.
- Brian Gallagher placed 16th in triple jump with a mark of 12.63m.
- Cory Couture finished sixth in the 200m finals with a time of 21.69 seconds.
- Aidan Dupill captured 11th in the 5k, routing the circle in 15:22.03.
- The 4x800m relay tandem consisting of Owen Schultz, Reidar Aageson, Michael Alleva, and Ryan Dyer finished third with a time of 7:49.88.
- Merrimack's 4x100m relay tandem of Tyler Fortune, Thomas Scalia, Carson Mighty, and Cory Couture captured fourth with a time of 42.14 seconds.
- The 4x400m relay squad of Jadis Yarbrough, Blake Hickey, Maddox Merlo, and Cory Couture finished fourth with a time of 3:16.50.
