North Andover, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team will open its 2025-26 season facing off against South Dakota State University as part of the Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon on Monday, Nov. 3 in Sioux Falls, S.D. as announced on Tuesday.
The Warriors will play the Jackrabbits at 9 p.m. EST to cap off the marathon day of hoops. The game can be seen on the Field of 68's X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube platforms.
The matchup with South Dakota State will be the second time that Merrimack has taken on a foe from the Summit League. During the 2022-23 season, the Warriors lost of the University of St. Thomas 72-61 in an MTE (multi-team event) hosted by the University of Montana. This will be the first time that Merrimack will head to the state of South Dakota.
The Field of 68 Opening Day Marathon features six men's basketball showcase games at two different locations on Nov. 3. The schedule for the entire day is posted below:

Bradley vs St. Bonaventure (11:00 AM EST)
High Point at Furman (6:30 PM EST)
In Sioux Fall, SD:
Murray State vs Omaha (1:30 PM EST)

South Dakota State vs Merrimack (9:00 PM EST)
