PROVIDENCE, RI - The Merrimack College Men's Tennis team opened up their spring season against Brown this Saturday. Despite falling 6-1, Tom Van Nooten was victorious in his singles matchup.
Van Nooten forced a tie breaker against Brown and came away with the win 10-6.
"It was a great start to the season against a very strong opponent. I was very happy with effort and level from the guys. A huge congrats to Tom Van Nooten for winning his first match as a warrior at the number 2 spot" said head coach Cory Erikson
Björn Hedegaard-Friis battled playing in two close singles sets.
Mike Schut and Strahinja Djukic fought in their doubles match loss 4-6.
The Warriors will travel to Dartmouth at the end of the month to take on the Big Green. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
