AMESBURY, Mass. – Merrimack College men's hockey junior goaltender
Max Lundgren was named the Hockey East Defender of Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Max won both of his starts this weekend for Merrimack, stopping 53 of 55 shots against Northeastern with 33 saves on Thursday and 30 on Friday, to win his 11
th and 12
th games of the season which is the second most among goaltenders in the conference. Lundgren has had a recognition heavy week as he was named as the lone Hobey Baker nominee for Merrimack as well as being named to the Richter Award watchlist both for the first time in the week. Lundgren also leads the conference in saves with 690 and is fourth in save percentage with .921.
Lundgren and the Warriors stay home to play a new opponent as they welcome in the New Hampshire Wildcats on Friday, January 30
th at 7 PM.
