HAMDEN, CT—The #19/20 ranked Merrimack College men's ice hockey team opened the 2026-27 with a 6-3 loss to the #7/8 Quinnipiac University Bobcats
on Saturday afternoon.
After going down early in the contest,
Parker Lalonde tied the score 1-1, with the assists going to
Nathan King and
Seamus Powell. Quinnipiac would take the 2-1 lead back a few minutes later before the first intermission.
In the second period, Quinnipiac added another early, but
Ty Daneault cut the lead back to one (3-2) as
Nathan King collected his second assist along with
Daniel Astapovich.
Quinnipiac added another goal in the second and opened the scoring in the third, before
Caelan Fitzpatrick found the net just after a powerplay had ended.
Parker Lalonde picked up his second point of the night with an assist.
Quinnipiac would add an empty netter in the final two minutes.

on Thursday, October 8thagainst the University of New Hampshire. Puck drop is
at 7 PM.
