NORTH ANDOVER, MA-- Merrimack forward
Caelan Fitzpatrick was named as the Hockey East Player of the Week for the first time in his career as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Fitzpatrick, a sophomore from Moose Jaw, SK, had an outstanding weekend against Vermont, factoring into every goal in their 5-2 win, finding the net twice and adding three assists, before scoring again the next night, giving him six points in total.
In the month of February he's had points in six of the team's seven games, leading the team in scoring with 12 points  (seven goals, five assists) in that time. Fitzpatrick sits in third in goal scoring with 12 and fourth in points with 25 total, 20 coming in the second half of the season.
Fitzpatrick and the Warriors have one more regular season game to go as they host the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on Thursday, March 6 at Lawler Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 PM.
