NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- Merrimack College junior outside hitter Mckenna Shotwell was named to the All-Tournament Team after the women's volleyball team competed in the Saluki Bash over the weekend.
Shotwell, who has notched 50 kills in just six matches this season, had herself a notable showing at the Saluki Bash hosted by Southern Illinois. The native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., tallied 25 kills (2.5 kills per set) with 22 digs and five aces in three tournament matches.
"Mckenna has been a stalwart for us in every capacity since she got to Merrimack," Merrimack women's volleyball coach Ken Nichols said. "She does not always have gaudy numbers at the end of a match, but other coaches see how steady she is in receive, how tough she serves, how great her defense is and how reliable she is as an attacker. I am so glad they recognized her in this way."
Shotwell and the Warriors (0-6) will return to the court when they host the UNH Wildcats in their home opener Tuesday night.
