NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College men's basketball team will hit the road for its first game away from Hammel Court this season, taking on the Falcons of Bentley University on Saturday (1 p.m.) from the Dana Center. Bentley will be entering play winning its first three games of the season. Five Things to Know:
- Senior forward Ryan Boulter surpassed 1,000 career points last Saturday afternoon; he continued his great start to the season by adding 11 points (nine coming off of 3-pointers) in the win over Assumption. Boulter is the 45th player in school history to score 1,000 career points.
- Junior guard Juvaris Hayes, after being named NE10 Player of the week, posted 13 points and 3 assists against Assumption. Hayes holds the school record for most assists in a single season (287) set in 2016-17 and now boasts 559 career assists.
- Junior Jaleel Lord led the way with 17 points to carry the team past Assumption last time out. He also led the team with nine rebounds and five three-pointers made this past Wednesday. The Jersey City, N.J. native is nearly averaging a double-double through three games
- Hayes broke into the 1,000-point club last season in just his second collegiate year, and he is on pace to become just the 7th player in program history to score 2,000 career points; Boulter is on pace for just over 1,500 career points, which would rank in the top-15 in school history
- The Warriors are holding opponents to an average of 54.7 points per game, good for second best in the NE10 as well as fourth best in the country.
Series History:
- Merrimack and Bentley have split every season series dating back to the 2012-13 season.
- The program is two years removed from a 68-61 victory at the Dana Center, snapping a 13-year drought in terms of winning at Bentley. Senior Troy McLaughlin poured in a career-best 25 points off the bench, 17 of which came in the second half, to guide Merrimack to victory
