NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The No. 2 Merrimack College men's lacrosse team remains at home to battle Saint Anselm College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday (April 3) night. Game time from Merrimack Stadium is 7 p.m.

Merrimack is pleased to offer a 21+ Beer Garden on the stadium patio for all home men's lacrosse games (opposite the press box side, closest to the Merrimack Athletics Complex). The patio opens one hour before faceoff and closes at the end of the third quarter. Light snacks are also available for purchase. 

Inside the Series:
  • Merrimack is 23-3 all-time against Saint Anselm and has won 12 straight in the series.
  • The last loss against the Hawks was on April 11, 2007 (9-4).
  • Last year, Merrimack rolled to a 20-6 road win during the regular season finale over the Hawks.
Last Time Out:
  • Ten different players found the back of the net while all four netminders on the roster combined to allow just four goals on the afternoon, as Merrimack powered its way past American International College by a 17-4 score on Saturday. Click here for full recap.

  • Merrimack enters the week ranked No. 2 in the USILA Coaches' Poll. It was No. 1 during a four-week span and has been no lower than second all year.
  • As is usually the case, the Warriors will face plenty of the nation's top programs this year, as six other schools that are on Merrimack's schedule are also ranked in this week's poll.
  • The Warriors have already NYIT (ranked eighth when they played), LIU Post (12) and Le Moyne (2); they are yet to face Pace (5), Adelphi (6) and Saint Anselm (20).
'Mack Facts:
  • Merrimack (6-1, 3-1 NE10) ranks third in the NE10 in scoring offense (13.14) and fourth in defense (7.57) and also boast the second-best man-down defense in the country (86.4%) and the ninth-best man-up offense (44.8%).
  • Freshman Sean Black (34 points) leads all Warriors on the offensive front with 14 goals and 20 assists. He ranks second in the league in assists and overall scoring. His 2.86 assists per game figure ranks second nationally and scoring average (4.86) ranks 11th.
  • Sophomore Charlie Bertrand, meanwhile, ranks tied for first in the league with 24 goals in just six games, ranking second nationally in goals per game (4.00).
  • Senior Blake Boudreau has won 101-of-151 on the X (.669) as Merrimack's primary faceoff man, ranking eighth nationally and second in the NE10 in faceoff win percentage. He ranks seventh nationally and first in the NE10 averaging 8.57 ground balls per game.
  • Senior James Bassett, reigning USILA Defensive Player of the Year, leads the Warriors with nine caused turnovers, while senior long midfielder Eric Coburn and junior Ryan Burke are close behind with eight and seven, respectively.
  • In net, freshman Peter Brown has started the last five games and has been solid, posting a 5.72 goals against average and .556 save percentage in that span.
  • Merrimack has won the last 18 games it has scored 10 or more goals in; its last loss when posting a double-digit scoring total was in double overtime against Le Moyne (12-11) on March 18, 2017.
Scouting Saint Anselm:
  • Saint Anselm (3-2, 2-2 NE10) is coming off an 8-3 loss to No. 1 Le Moyne on Saturday. It ranks fourth in the league in scoring offense (13.00) and sixth in scoring defense (8.80).
  • Ryan Hesseltine is the Hawks' top scorer with 18 points (9g, 9a), while Patrick Sweeney and Anthony Busconi each have 10 goals.
  • Derrick LaBranche leads Saint Anselm in ground balls (18) and caused turnovers (13), while Ryan Melley has gone 46-of-86 on the X (.535).
  • Nick Reichard is Saint Anselm's starting goalkeeper and owns a 8.86 goals against average and .564 save percentage.
