BOSTON – Just over two weeks removed from a dominant run to its first national championship, the Merrimack College men's lacrosse program continued to celebrate its illustrious milestone with a visit the Massachusetts State House Friday afternoon.
Merrimack was hosted by the Office of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker as part of the team's visit to the State House in Boston. The Warriors had the opportunity to tour the premises before meeting Gov. Baker, to whom they presented an autographed jersey
by team members before posing for photos with the governor.
The men's lacrosse team wrapped up a historic campaign at the end of May that ended with the third national title in Merrimack College Athletics history and the first in the history of the men's lacrosse program. The Warriors won a school-record 18 games, secured their third NE10 tournament title – and first since 2010 – before dominating all three NCAA Championship games they played, culminating with a 23-6 victory in the national title game to put a bow on a sensational year from start to finish.
