BOSTON – With four runners placing in the top-six overall, including another race victory by junior
Katherine Ferrara, the Merrimack College women's cross country team won for the second time in three tries this young season with a victory at the Codfish Bowl on Saturday.

Chris Cameron: "Another good win for the girls today. We still have a lot of hard training ahead of us as we keep pushing toward hopefully continuing what has been a positive trend in the early portions of the season as we try to build something special."
How It Happened:
- As Ferrara has gone, so have the Warriors; the third-year runner won for the second time in three tries – just as the team has – with a final time of 19:09 on Saturday.
- Senior Tia Foglietta and sophomore Julia Dempsey were second and third on the leader board with times of 19:17 and 19:32, respectively, to round out an all-Warrior podium.
- Sophomore Kate Fisher was next to finish in sixth place, crossing the finish line in 19:37, while senior Sophie Gorton earned an 11th-place finish with a time of 19:54.
- Freshman Sarah Tierney and senior Jackie Coscia earned top-20 spots in the standings after they finished consecutively with times of 20:30 and 20:38. Senior Morgan DeBolt rounded out the top-seven for the Warriors with a time of 20:48, good for 23rd overall.
- Merrimack blew away the 11-team field with a score of 23 points, 72 points better than second-place Worcester State, to take home its second tittle of the young season.
