NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – The Merrimack College women's ice hockey team kicks off its fourth season at home this weekend, taking on Union College twice on September 28-29.

Reviewing 2017-2018:
  • The team ended the season with an 11-20-3 overall schedule, taking six games in conference and just missing the Women's Hockey East Championship.
  • The offense was led by one of 11 seniors on this year's roster, as Katelyn Rae tallied a single-season record 30 points on 20 goals and 10 assists; Mikyla Grant-Mentis was right behind her with 23 points on 15 goals and eight assists.
  • The season was highlighted with wins over three top ten teams; #3 Minnesota, #9 UMaine, and #9 Providence.
  • In its fourth calendar year, eleven seniors return to this year's roster.
Weekend Promotions:
  • The athletic department will be distributing team magnet schedules sponsored by Cedar's Foods, and schedule posters to the first 100 fans.
Inside the Series:
  • This will be just the second season that Merrimack will take on Union College, and just the first time that the Dutchwomen will play inside Lawler Rink.
  • Last season, the teams split the series; Merrimack took game one by a score of 5-3, while Union shut out the Warriors and tallied two goals in the second game.
  • Four different Warriors scored in the win, with sophomore Courtney Maud leading the way with a pair of goals.
Meet the Opposition:
  • Union comes in to the new season after a 2017-2018 year that saw a 7-22-5 overall record.
  • The Dutchwomen graduated just three seniors from last year's roster.
  • So far, Union has played in one exhibition game, winning 3-2 against Carleton University.
