NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – After grinding out a road win at Lake Erie last Sunday, the top-ranked Merrimack College men's lacrosse program continues its three-game road trip when it takes on No. 10 LIU Post on Saturday (March 9). Game time from Bethpage FCU Stadium is set for 2 p.m.

Five Things to Know:
  • Merrimack's offense picked up right where it left off from a historic 2018 season by putting together goal totals of 20 and 16 through two games; Merrimack is averaging 18.00 goals per game to represent the nation's fifth-best scoring offense. The Warriors put together eight goals in each half last Sunday in their come-from-behind victory over Lake Erie, erupting for six in the third quarter to go from one goal down to five goals up and held on from there on out to earn. the win
  • Merrimack owns the nation's longest active winning streak of 16 straight games and has won the last 32 games it has scored 10 or more goals in, a program record and the longest active win streak in the nation. Merrimack also has won 17 straight games at home, trailing only Colorado Mesa's 20 straight home wins. The last time the Warriors lost a game at home was on March 18, 2017.
  • Junior Charlie Bertrand continued to back up his status as one of the nation's best overall players with a 10-point outing against the Storm last Sunday, compiling his first-ever double-digit scoring output in a single game. His 6.50 goals-per-game figure leads the country while his 9.00 points-per-game average is second-best. Sophomore Sean Black is averaging three assists per game, a top-seven figure nationally, and ranks fifth in scoring average (6.50).
  • Merrimack also owns the nation's best man-up offense, one that converts on 66.7 percent of its opportunities. Bertrand has three of those tallies, the second-most in the conference and 19th most in the country.
  • Merrimack will be aiming for its seventh straight victory against LIU Post in a series that the Warriors control at 6-4; Merrimack has not been held under 10 goals in any of those games since then. Last year marked the most dominant win for the Warriors in the series, an 11-goal victory at home (15-4). The Pioneers will be looking to get back win the win column after falling against Pace in their most recent meeting, 10-7. William Snelders leads LIU with 14 points (10g, 4a), while Connor Farrell's 86.8-percent clip on the faceoff X is among the best in the country.
