Men’s Cross Country Repeats as Codfish Bowl Champs

BOSTON – The Merrimack College men's cross country program repeated as Codfish Bowl champions behind the repeat first place finish for sophomore TJ Corliss.
The team placed nine of the top 12 runners in the event, earning a perfect score to secure the victory.

What They Said:
Head coach Chris Cameron: "The men had a great team effort, they went 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10. It was a better victory for the men, TJ Corliss won for the second straight year at the Codfish. Overall the men ran better as a team, we need to work on tightening up as a pack, we know that and we know we're going to get better at that before New Englands."

How It Happened:
  • Junior Gunnar Hasselquist took second behind Corliss with a time of 27:11, with freshman Samus Malia impressing with a fourth place finish at 27:49.
  • Dylan Kehoe took the Warriors third finish and fifth overall in the race at 27:53.
  • Junior Ryan Sullivan (28:20), senior captain Brian Sardinskas (29:04), and year James Bull (29:08) rounded out spots No. 4-7 for Merrimack, taking the team's final top-10 finishers.

Merrimack is off until it returns to Franklin Park for the New England Championships on Oct. 12.
