AMESBURY, Mass. – Women's ice hockey forward
Alexa Pongo earned her second Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week honor for the season as announced by the league on Monday.
The Midhurst, Ont. native scored her first two collegiate goals against Holy Cross in the team's 5-3 win on Saturday. Her first career goal came on the power play late in the second period before she scored on a breakaway early in the third, notching the game-winner.
Pongo was previously named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 27 for her first career point against Minnesota State.
The Warriors look to build on their three game winning streak this weekend in a home-and-home with the University of New Hampshire, hosting the Wildcats on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. before taking on UNH in Durham on Saturday, Nov. 13 with puck drop set for 2 p.m.
