Bridgewater, NJ—The Merrimack Men's Track and Field Team collected one major award and six individual placements in the 2024 Northeast Conference Outdoor Track and Field All-NEC teams as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Grant Eastin was named as an NEC Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer and he was also named to the second team in the shot put event after he had two podium finishes in his three events he competed in this weekend, as he finished second in the Discus throw with a mark of 15.45 meters, third in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 52.66 meters, and seventh in the discus throw with a mark of 41.98 meters.
Stephen Gallagher was Merrimack's lone representative on the All-Conference First team after his victory in the Javelin Throw, notching a throw of 66.29 meters. He also recently competed for Merrimack in the NCAA Regionals.
Sean Glass was named to the second team in the 200-meter event, with a time of 21.27 seconds.
Cory Couture was also named to the second team with his runner-up finish in the 400-meter dash, clocking in with a time of 46.99 seconds.
John Elie Jr was the Warriors third member of the second team as he finished second in the 110 meter hurdle event with a time of 14.55 seconds.
Jared Ptaszek was the Warriors final member of the second team and was also apart of the All-Rookie Team in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 53.03 meters.
The Merrimack Men's Track and Field team had a team podium finish, placing third out of nine teams with 101 points in the NEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
