Cory Couture of the Merrimack College men's track & field program was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Track Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance at the Skyhawk Invitational this past weekend.
The Sherrill, N.Y. native won the 400m dash with a time of 48.49 seconds. Couture also scored big for the Warriors in the 200m dash, finishing second with a time of 21.88 seconds. The Graduate student also aided the men's 4x100m relay squad to a second place finish with a new school record time of 41.49 seconds.
The Warriors return to action April 12
th for the Ed Daniels Invitational at Southern New Hampshire University. They will compete at the Mark A. Ouellette Stadium in Hooksett, NH.
