Hammer Title, School Records Power Warriors to Sixth at Conference Championships

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ The Merrimack women's outdoor track and field team competed in the MAAC Conference Championships in Lawrenceville New Jersey where they finished sixth overall, scoring a total of 43 points.
 
Warrior Standouts
Anya Cunningham was crowned MAAC Champion in hammer throw, capturing a distance of 48.79m. Lily Thomas cracked the school record in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing third with a time of 11:00.01. Cameron Zuiliani placed third in discus, tossing for 41.49m.
 
How it Happened I Saturday May 10

• Anya Cunningham won hammer throw, capturing a distance of 48.79m while teammate Makayla Champagne finished third with a mark of 46.35m.
• Lily Thomas tabbed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a school record time of 11:00.01.
• Jahaida Gabriel placed fifth in the 200m prelims, with a final qualifying time of 25.05 seconds.
• Isabella Tomic finished seventh in the 400m hurdle prelims, with a PR time of 1:05.07. Tomic will advance to the 400m hurdle finals tomorrow.
• Maci Chapman finished seventh in the 10k, crossing the line in 37:46.99.
• In the 400m hurdle prelims, Riley Paskow placed 11^th with a time of 59.33 seconds.
• Jahaida Gabriel finished 14^th in the 100m prelims, crossing the line in 12.19 seconds..
• Casey Bednarek placed 26^th in the 800m prelims, with a PB time of 2:24.20 seconds.
• Marianna Collins and Caroline White finished back-to-back in the 1500m prelims. Collins placed 18^th, crossing the line in 4:59.88 while White took 19^th with a time of 5:00.32.
• Katie Sills finished 11^th in pole vault with a mark of 3.25m.
• Kiera O'Brien finished 19^th in javelin, tossing for 22.06m.

• Isabella Tomic placed fifth in the 400m hurdle finals with a new PR time of 1:04.59.
• Jahaida Gabriel placed seventh in the 200m hurdle finals with a time of 25.28.
• Elizabeth Murphy finished 11^th in high jump with a season-best mark of 1.53m.
• Cameron Zuliani finished third in discus with a mark of 41.49m.
• Grace Bleyer placed 16^th in triple jump with a mark of 10.79m.
• Avaline Fihlman finished top-20 in the 5k, crossing the line in 18:34.19 for a PR in the event.
• The 4x100m relay tandem of Sydney Connolly, Grace Bleyer, Madison DeCamp, and Jahaida Gabriel finished sixth with a time of 48.30 seconds.
• The 4x400m relay squad consisting of Sydney Connolly, Isabella Tomic, Jahaida Gabriel, and Riley Paskow finished seventh, crossing the line in 3:56.26 for a season best performance.
• The 4x800m relay tandem of Lily Thomas, Caroline White, Casey Bednarek, and Marianna Collins clinched seventh with a time of 9:35.30.
