North Andover, MA-- The Merrimack Women's Hockey team is set to face the UConn Huskies right before the weekend as they'll head to Storrs tomorrow, with puck drop at 3 PM before returning to Lawler Arena on Friday at 2 PM. Merrimack collected a point in their weekend series with Vermont as they played to a 3-3 tie on Saturday in a game that was held at the Conte Forum after Lawler Arena was rendered unavailable.
All four of Merrimack's goals the previous weekend were scored on the powerplay. In the 3-3 tie, this was the second time this season that they've scored three goals in a period and they scored three powerplay goals in a game for the first time since January 8th, 2021, which also happened at Conte Forum.
Emma Pfeffer's two goals put her back in a tie for first place in powerplay goals in the nation with seven.
Olivia Grabianowski impressed last weekend with assists on the opening two Merrimack goals on Saturday, her second multi point game of the season thus far. The senior has eight points (two goals, six assists) in total.

McKenzie Cerrato and
Maddie Crowley-Cahill had weekends to remember as Cerrato scored against Vermont on Saturday to give Merrimack the lead, and Crowley-Cahill, had a goal and assist in the same game in the building she used to call home as a Boston College Eagle.

Lauren Lyons had another strong weekend making 39 saves in both games she started over the weekend. Lyons has made 30+ saves in six of her nine starts this season.
Merrimack is facing UConn for the first time since the quarterfinals of the Hockey East tournament last season, a 4-0 win for the Huskies. The Warriors are looking for their first win in the matchup since October 29th 2021,which was a 3-0 win.
Maria Lindberg has had the most success recently with three goals against UConn in past meetings.
