NORTH ANDOVER, MA-- Merrimack went unbeaten over the weekend and is currently on a three game streak continuing with a 1-1 tie and shootout win over #14 Holy Cross and a 3-2 road win over Vermont. Merrimack enters the final two games of the regular season with their final home game against Maine on Thursday and on the road against UConn on Saturday.
Goaltender
Adreanna Doucette was recognized for her play for the second time this season as she was named as the Hockey East Defender of the Week after an unbeaten weekend. She made 69 saves on 72 shots against both Holy Cross and Vermont, with a 40 save performance in the second game. Adreanna has had four appearances this season making 40 saves or more and 10 with 30+ saves. Adreanna also sits in the top 10 in saves, goals against average and save percentage in Hockey East.
Madison Vittands has provided spark in the bottom six of the lineup in the last few games, scoring her first career goal against Providence on Feb 7th and she followed that up with the go ahead and game winning goal in a two goal effort against Vermont on Feb 15th.Â
Junior forward
McKenzie Cerrato will reach 100 games played in her career if she plays in one game this weekend. Cerrato has 20 points in 99 games, with eight goals and 12 assists. Â This season Cerrato has 13 points (6 goals and 7 assists) in 32 games played this season.
Merrimack captain
Solveig Gisler will play in her 100th game this weekend if she appears in both contests. In 98 career games Gisler has three goals and 10 assists for 13 points, and her lone goal so far this season was a game winner which was against Maine in January.
