NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. –
Erin Cammann will retire after she served as the head coach of the Merrimack College women's swimming and diving program for more than a decade.
Cammann, who took over at Merrimack in 2015, has spent more than 25 years as a swimming coach and served at nearly every level.
Â
"We are grateful for Erin's tenure and impact as the head coach of the Merrimack women's swimming and diving program," Merrimack athletic director
Joe Foley said. "We wish her nothing but the best in her next chapter."
Cammann added: "I've loved being at Merrimack and am so grateful to have been part of the lives of a spectacular group Merrimack students-athletes. The college, the athletic department, and the team itself have transformed over the course of my time here, and I am very proud to have been a part of that growth. I will forever be cheering for all of the Merrimack teams, but especially for the swimmers and divers to come. Go Warriors!"
Merrimack will begin a national search for a new head coach.
During her tenure at the helm of the program, Cammann and the Warriors reached the 2022 NE-10 Championships and she has helped countless swimmers set program records. During a memorable 2017-18 campaign, Cammann orchestrated the program's first-ever senior day meet, helped Merrimack host its first-ever home meet, and led the Warriors to a sixth-place finish at the NE-10 Championships. The sixth-place finish serves as the best in program history.
