Senior Léa-Kristine Demers registered an impressive two-game weekend for the women's ice hockey program, and earned Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts!
Demers had a combined 80-save effort in the weekend series against the Maine Black Bears, making 35 saves in the team's 1-1 tie on Friday and 45 saves Saturday, including a 21-save third period. Her three goals in two games is the fewest given up by the Warriors since Oct. 4-5 against Rensselaer. She began the series by posting her second highest saves output of the year, only to best that number on Saturday for a season-high 45 stops.
Merrimack's senior goaltender will lead Merrimack into a two-game set with Boston University this weekend, which features a home game on Saturday afternoon at Lawler Rink, the team's first home contest of the 2020 calendar year.
