After a two-win week in net that featured an 11-save performance against the No. 8 team in the country as part of an upset win, junior goalkeeper Lauren Trepaney of the women's lacrosse team has been named Fuddruckers Female Athlete of the Week.
Trepaney, who also was named NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week for her efforts, wound up with the bulk of the playing time in net as part of Merrimack’s two-win week, entering in the second half of the Warriors’ win over SNHU on Tuesday, before playing nearly the entirety of their upset win over #8 New Haven on Saturday. Eleven of her 13 saves came against the Chargers in which she allowed just six goals.
After last week, Trepaney now stands at 1-0 on the season with a 5.78 goals against average and a .619 save percentage. She stopped 13 shots last week while allowing eight goals in over 80 minutes of work.
Trepaney and the Warriors continue league play this week with just one game, a Wednesday (March 28) midweek matchup at Saint Michael's beginning at 3:30 p.m.
