After leading the team from an offensive standpoint to help the Merrimack College men's lacrosse team earn its third league title in program history, senior attack Kyle Stenberg has been named the Men's Fuddruckers Athlete of the Week!
Stenberg tied his career-high with five goals in the NE10 Championship Final on Sunday, lifting the Warriors to their first league title since 2010 against Saint Anselm with an 11-7 victory. He had nine points altogether on the week (8g, 1a) with two ground balls, as well. He added four more points (3g, 1a) in Merrimack's win over No. 4 Adelphi in the semifinal round of the league tournament on Friday.
Altogether, Stenberg ranks fourth on the team with 36 points on the help of 27 goals and nine assists. He has played in 15 games with five starts and has five man-up goals, good for thir don the team, along with 14 ground balls.
Stenberg and the rest of the Warriors will face eighth-ranked NYIT in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship this Saturday at Merrimack Stadium. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
