Doucette Named Hockey East Defender of The Week

AMESBURY, MA. – Merrimack College women's hockey sophomore goaltender Adreanna Doucette received recognition from Hockey East as she was named Defender of the Week for the first time in her career as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. 

Doucette, a sophomore from Milbury, Massachusetts made 69 saves on 72 shots against both Holy Cross and Vermont, with a 40 save performance in the second game as the Warriors went unbeaten last weekend.

 Adreanna has had four appearances this season making 40 saves or more and 10 with 30+ saves, she also sits in the top 10 in saves, goals against average and save percentage in Hockey East. This is the second time this season that Doucette has won weekly honors from the conference as she was named as Hockey East Goaltender of the Week on January 19.

Doucette and the Warriors return to Lawler Arena for their final home game of the regular season when they host the Maine Black Bears on Thursday February 19.
