After being named a two-time USTFCCCA First-Team All-American and earning the same status at the Division II NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, junior Michaela Pernell of the Merrimack College women's track & field team has been named Fuddruckers Women's Athlete of the Week.

Pernell wrapped up the indoor season with a seventh-place finish in the 200m dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships, with a final time of 24.36 seconds. She finished just ahead of Kelsey Lewis of Pittsburg State, while placing just behind Atiya Harvey from San Francisco State.

She had an eighth place finish in the 60m dash with a time of 7.58 seconds. She was four one hundredths of a second behind Kayla Foy from Winston-Salem State.

The junior concluded the indoor season as a two-time Northeast-10 Conference Champion in both the 60m and 200m dashes. She was named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the meet back in mid-February. She was also a four-time NE10 Track Athlete of the Week and earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors. 

Pernell and the rest of the Merrimack College track & field teams begin the outdoor season in Bridgewater, Massachusetts on Saturday, March 24.
