After a phenomenal showing on the faceoff X helped power his team to a victory in its conference opener, senior Blake Boudreau of the men's lacrosse team has been named Fuddruckers Male Athlete of the Week.

Boudreau had one of his best outings as a Warrior in Saturday's win over Saint Rose, winning 14-of-17 faceoffs (.824) with 10 ground balls to dominate one of the most important aspects of the game. That helped Merrimack limit the Golden Knights to only five goals on the afternoon. Boudreau also scored a highlight-reel goal in the process to contribute offensively.

The senior and one-time All-American is off to his best start in his three years as a Warrior having won 63-of-96 of his faceoffs contested so far, or an astounding 65.6 percent. He has 34 ground balls and two caused turnovers, as well.

Boudreau and the rest of the Warriors will gear up for a huge battle at second-ranked Le Moyne on Saturday in a rematch of last year's NCAA Championship Semifinal.
